We - Alayne & Jon - started out as H2O Extreme in January 2002. At that stage Jon was one the most active and qualified White Water Kayaking Instructors in Ireland.
A van, computer, some kayaks and a whole bunch of enthusiasm got us off the ground and we were innovators in the provision of many courses and White Water holidays abroad. Our team of great Instructors and expert tuition and safety record led us to all corners of the planet.
Jon ran exciting Alpine Kayaking Holidays for many Irish paddlers as well as numerous trips to the mighty Zambezi, the Himalayas and elsewhere. We even pioneered the development of Swift Water Rescue Training here in Ireland.
As we settled in Cork (Alaynes homeplace) we began to explore opportunities for kayaking here. In Summer 2003 we launched H2O Sea Kayaking and began running our trips out of KInsale and the Old Head. That season we also hosted the Irish Sea Kayaking associations annual Symposium under some very out of character weather that May Bank Holiday. That first season laid the foundations for the growth of a business that we love dearly and over the years we have enjoyed meeting so many new and different people.
We've seen it all on the water! As Jon often says, " We may paddle the same locations regularly but every day the sea wears different outfits and shows its true beauty!" .We have paddled with Dolphins, Whales and Sharks, seen all sorts of Birds, Boats and people. The sea just continues to amaze us as we humbly try to harness its energy whether in a kayak, on a surf board or a boat.
H2O Sea Kayaking is now part of Jon & Alaynes chemistry, it represents a lifestyle revolving around adventure and exploring the sea. Come join us.....
